Newport University is a private university located in Newport Beach, California. It was founded in 1976 and was licensed by the former State of California Bureau of Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education. According to its website, Newport University is no longer offering degree programs.[1][2]
Newport University was an approved school by the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education.[3][4] Newport University was not accredited by any higher education accreditation organization recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
In October 2006, two Newport University School of Law students took the California First-Year Law Students' Examination (the "Baby Bar") for the first time. One passed.[5]
