Route 362 begins at an intersection with NY 39 in a small business district south of Bliss. The highway heads northward, intersecting with Wyoming County Route 58 (Main Street), passing homes and small businesses along the way. The route then leaves the business district and enters a more forest-filled area known as Pearl Street. The route passes through Bliss uneventfully and continues northward through a more rural area. Crossing the town line, Route 362 changes names to State Route 362.[3]
Route 362 continues northward, intersecting with local roads before terminating at an intersection with NY 78 north of Bliss.[3]
NY 362 was assigned to its current routing as part of the 1930 renumbering of state highways in New York and has not been altered since.[1]
The entire route is in Wyoming County.
