New Jognasury-I is a village in southern part of Chakma Autonomous District Council, Lawngtlai District in the state of Mizoram , India. It is also called Damdep-I. Most of the people depend on estate farming.

There are one Two primary schools and a comprehensive Middle school (in near future it is to be provided up to High School level)
In New-Jognasury there is bus service not so often from Longpughat (a village of CADC. It takes round about an hour by car from Longpuighat to New-Jognasury-I.
There is one (Buddhist) Monastery New-Jognasury Buddhist Temple. It was established since last 30-40 Years back.Most of the people are Buddhist and they try their best to follow the Buddhist way of living.
The Tongchangya people are concentrated in New-Jognasury-I. As a Buddhist during the major event in Buddhism, The Tangchangy people visit in the monastery listen dhamma and received five precepts and eight precepts. Though they are Buddhist but some still follow the traditional way of believing.
