Neurolepis is a genus of bamboo. It has several species, found in South America (from Venezuela to Peru). It is one of two genera in the subtribe Chusqueinae, the other being Chusquea; unlike that genus the stems of Neurolepis are hollow, like other bamboos. Many of the species are running, rather than clumping, bamboos, and are found cascading down hillsides.
Synonyms include Planotia and Platonia.
