Kerala

• Nambiar (Kshatriya) - the Royal families and the subdivision within the Nair caste from the North Malabar region of Kerala.
• Nambiar (Brahmin) - Ambalavasi, Pushpaka Brahmin sect. Associated with ritualistic artforms Kutiyattam and Chakyar Koothu.

Tamil Nadu

• Nambiyar- Sholiyar Brahmin name found in Tamil Nadu.

Other

• Nambiar is also an English family title that is independent of Hindu Nambiars from South India.
