NGO-isation

The term NGO-isation refers to the capacity of the so-called nongovernmental organizations (NGO) to depoliticize discourses and practices of social movements. The term has not been developed in academic context, but has been used by several authors, most notably the Indian writer Arundhati Roy [1], who speaks about the NGO-isation of resistance, and more generally, about the NGO-isation of politics [1]
