Astronium (syn. Myracrodruon M.Allemão) is a genus of flowering plants in the cashew family, Anacardiaceae.

Selected species

In 1968, F.A. Barkley describes the genus Astronium as composed of 13 species.

  1. Astronium ulei
  2. Astronium lecointei
  3. Astronium glaziovii
  4. Astronium obliquum
  5. Astronium fraxinifolium
  6. Astronium graveolens
  7. Astronium gracile
  8. Astronium conzattii
  9. Astronium mirandai
  10. Astronium gardneri
  1. Astronium urundeuva
  2. Astronium balansae
  1. Astronium concinnum

More recently, Santin and Leitão-Filho (1991) elevated the status of Myracrodruon from subgenus to genus. Apparently, Santin also placed Astronium concinnum into a new genus; Hermogenodendron. Further, Santin (1991) added a new species to the genus Astronium; Astronium nelson-rosae. Pell et al. (2011) lists the genus as having seven or more species.
