Mygazines is a digital publishing software provider.

The company's system converts a PDF into a page-flipping digital edition, with the option to enhance with links, videos and other features. The backend allows content owners to distribute, secure, monetize and track publications. Different aspects of the publication can be customized and branded.[1]

As a technology company, Mygazines developed in February 2010 the first browser-based platform for accessing publications on mobile devices (including desktops, laptops and mobile devices) [2][3] The third version of the platform, Mobile 3.0, was launched in December 2010 and aimed to create an app-like reading experience for publications without the need to access via an application store. Users simply access mobile editions via the same URL they would use on a desktop.[4]

History

In June 2008, after 10 months of development and preparation, Mygazines was born as a Youtube-like website where any registered member could upload a PDF of their publication, compile their own magazines out of different articles, search throughout a collection of digital editions, share with friends and social bookmark around the web.[5]

Within the first month of launching, Mygazines had 5000 registered members. In its second month, the site had received over one million visits with over 130,000 registered members [6]
