Murombedzi is a business centre(better known as Murombedzi Growth point) in Mashonaland West province in Zimbabwe. Murombedzi is about 100km west of Harare, Zimbabwe's capital city. It is situated between Chinhoyi and Chegutu towns. It services mainly the rural communities of Zvimba and Chirau( fomerly known as Tribal trust lands). It also serves the farming communities of Musengezi and Chitomborwizi to a lesser extent. The pioneers of Murombedzi Growth Point are the late Philip Edmund Chidarikire the owner of Chipata Trading Company Pvt (Ltd), Mr Mutongerwa of Mutongerwa Hotel and Mr Paraffin of Paraffin Butchery and Bottle Store, The main economic activity around Murombedzi is farming from the communal lands and surrounding farms of Msengezi and Chitomborwizi. The offices of Zvimba rural district council are located at the centre. The centre boasts of a hospital(Gangarahwe hospital), a Grain Marketing Board depot, two banks namely ZB bank and POSB, a post office, among others things. All the three cellphone operators namely Telecel, Econet and NetOne have base stations at the centre. Transport is solely by road, and there is a good road network linking the centre to major towns around. It's linked to Harare via Norton with a tarred road and to the south and north by the Chinhoyi-Chegutu highway.
