Muhammed Ijaz Khan
Muhammed Ijaz Khan is a citizen of Pakistan, who was held in extrajudicial detention in the United States Guantanamo Bay detainment camps, in Cuba.[1] His Guantanamo Internment Serial Number was 17.
He was captured in Afghanistan in 2001 and transferred to Pakistan on September 17, 2004.[2]
Repatriation
Ijaz was repatriated with sixteen other Pakistani men on September 17, 2005.[3] The seventeen men were held, without charge in Pakistani custody, until June 2005. Pakistani security officials said they finally released the men after getting assurances from the families that they would not engage in hostilities. Nevertheless several of the released men said "they would go for jihad again, if given the chance."
