Muddebihal is located at [1]. It has an average elevation of 563 metres (1847 feet).Muddebihal is 80 km distance from district city Bijapur and 500 km distance from state capital Bangalore.

Adavi Somanal,Alur,B.Salawadagi,Basarakod,Bavur,Bhantanur are the villages in the Muddebihal Taluk.The near by villages are Bidarakundi(3.5 k.m),Kuntoji(3.7 k.m),Kavadimatti(4 k.m),Hadalageri(4 k.m),Kolur(7.7 k.m) and Mural(10k.m.).The near by towns are Basavana Bagewadi(27.7 k.m),Sindagi(66.6 k.m),Bijapur(80 k.m), Bagalkot (64 k.m).

Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Muddebihal has an average literacy rate of 67%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 75%, and female literacy is 58%. In Muddebihal, 14% of the population is under 6 years of age.Most of the people depends on agreeculture.Ground nut,Sunflower,Bajra,wheat are main crops. The maximum Summer Temp is 42 degree and Winter Temp is 28 degrees.

Education

Schools in Muddebihal are either government run or private (both aided and un-aided by the government).There were only two schools-Sarkari Kannada Boys Primary school and Sarkari Kannada Girls Primary School till 1990.After 1990, many new Kannada and English medium schools are established. Pinjara School is started in 1999.

V B C Highschool is the premier highschool founded by Gangamma Chinivar. This was only highschool till Mutayna High school established in 1986. The alumnis of V B C highschool are holding very high position in govt and private sectors.There are other schools like Anjuman High School and MGMK English Medium School.

The “Shrimati Gangamma Veerappa Chiniwar Vidya Prasarak Trust” in 1967 started the degree college M G V C College.This college is affiliated to Karnataka University,Dharwad. This college offers following degree courses -

The "Shrimati Gangamma Veerappa Chiniwar Vidya Prasarak Trust" is bearing the luminous name of matoshri Gangamma Veerappa Chiniwar. Who donated all her property generously to trust for the better cause of Education. Her sacrifice made her an ever memorable great mother “Matoshri” to all the students/children of the the Institutes established by the Trust. Muddebihal, though a good old Taluka head quarter in Bijapur District didn't had education institute above the High School level. The establishment of “Shrimati Gangamma Veerappa Chiniwar Vidya Prasarak Trust” in 1967 fullfilled need of the town & its surrounding rural area. Any increase in the height of Alamatti will be owned and will be held responsible by Karnataka Government. According to latest dicision of Brijesh kumar commity new hight of dam can be 524 metar,now it will store more water.The krishna river conflict between andhra,karnataka,and maharastra is been resolved by the supreme court and almati dam is authorised to rise the height of the dam to 524 meters

Kudalasangama(also written as Kudala Sangama) (Kannada: ಕೂಡಲ ಸಂಗಮ) is an important pilgrimage for people of the Lingayat community. It is located about 15 km from the Almatti Dam in Bagalkot district of Karnataka state on the banks of Krishna river and Ghataprabha. The Aikya Mantapa or the holy Samādhi of Basavanna, the founder of the Lingayat communityalong with Linga, which is believed to be self-born (Swayambhu), is situated here. The Kudala Sangama Development Board takes care of the maintenance and development of this place. The Krishna and Ghatprabha rivers merge here and flow east towards Srisaila (another pilgrim center) in state of Andhra Pradesh.The main attractions in and around Kudala Sangama are
