Mount Simeon (Arabic: منطقة جبل سمعان Ğabal Sam'ān), also known as Jabal Sam'an, is a district (mantiqah) of the Aleppo Governorate in Syria. At the 2004 Census it had a population of 189,181. Its centre is the city of Dārat ʻazzah. The city of Aleppo was part of the district until 2008 when the city became a separate district within the Aleppo governorate, the most populous in Syria.[1]
The district of Mount Simeon contains seven Nāḥiyas:
Until December 2008, the district of Atāreb was part of Mount Simeon District.[2]
