Monolepis is a small genus of flowering plants in the amaranth family known generally as povertyweeds. They are annual herbs with fleshy, lance-shaped to triangular pointed leaves and clusters of grainy flowers. Povertyweeds are native to North America, especially western parts, and regions of Asia and South America.
