Bob Brinker is the host of the radio show Moneytalk, which has been on the air nationally since 1986. He previously had a show on local New York radio on WMCA. Prior to that Brinker hosted talkradio programs on WCAU (now WPHT) and WWDB in Philadelphia. Brinker includes market timing in the investment letter he authors, titled Bob Brinker's Marketimer, which contains recommendations on no-load mutual funds and exchange-traded funds along with several model portfolios. The "Marketimer" Investment Letter is currently listed on the "Hulbert Financial Digest" Investment Letter Honor Roll.
Moneytalk is heard on over 200 radio stations on Sundays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Eastern Time. The program is also streamed online worldwide. The program is introduced with the lines "Everybody needs money. That's why they call it money." delivered by Danny DeVito in David Mamet's film Heist.
Brinker is a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts and the Financial Analysts Federation. He served on Wall Street as Investment Counsel Vice-President at the Bank of New York, and as Chief Investment Officer for the U.S. division of London based Guardian Royal Exchange.
On August 16, 2009, on Moneytalk, Brinker recommended that the United States government adopt a policy of long-term fiscal responsibility in order to provide a reasonable basis for future confidence in the dollar, rather than continue the policy of deficit spending that is running up the national debt and increasing the future interest expense liability required to service the mounting debt.
