Mohamadou Suamareh first played for his hometown, Serekunda United only at the age of 17. After playing about 2 years for Serekunda United at the GFA League Second Division, Mohamadou left Gambia in 2011 hoping to find a better career. Gambia later went on to have a trial alongside 17 other foreign players with the 2011 Malaysia FA Cup champions, Terengganu FA.
Having training with the Terengganu team for 3 weeks, Mohamadou failed to get a contract as coach, Mat Zan Mat Aris chose Brazilian footballer, Tércio Nunes Machado and Nigerian international, Sibi Gwar.[2][3]
However, Sibi Gwar failed to signed a contract and coach Mat Zan Mat Aris subsequently chose Mohamadou. Mohamadou signed a two year contract with Terengganu FA.[4]
Mohamadou Suamareh was previously a member of the U-18 Gambia national football team.
