Midnight Blue (Melissa Manchester song)

"Midnight Blue" is a single by Melissa Manchester which reached #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the summer of 1975 when it topped the Billboard Easy Listening chart for two weeks to become the #1 Easy Listening hit for the year 1975.[1].

Taken from the album Melissa, "Midnight Blue" was written by Manchester with lyricist Carole Bayer Sager in 1973.[2]

The song is heard on the radio in the film "Ice Castles" (1978).

The song has also been recorded by Shirley Bassey, Cristy Lane, Johnny Mathis, Vanessa Williams and Viola Wills. An Italian rendering: "E L'Amore Che Muore", was recorded by Wess & Dori Ghezzi for their 1977 album Insieme.
