Middleport Township is one of twenty-six townships in Iroquois County, Illinois, USA. As of the 2000 census, its population was 4,784.[1] Middleport Township changed its name to Watseka Township in September 1863, but then changed back to Middleport Township on an unknown date.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, Middleport Township covers an area of 36.51 square miles (94.6 km2); of this, 36.42 square miles (94.3 km2) (99.75 percent) is land and 0.09 square miles (0.23 km2) (0.25 percent) is water.
