Mick Antoniw AM is a Welsh Labour & Co-operative politician, who has represented the constituency of Pontypridd since the National Assembly for Wales election of 2011.

Antoniw came Wales to study law at the Cardiff Law School, University of Wales, in 1973.[1] He was President of the National Union of Students Wales from 1977 to 1979.[1]
He was a practising solicitor before his election to the Senedd, specialising in personal injury. Antoniw was a partner in Thompsons Solicitors, the specialist trade union solicitors, with whom he began his training in 1980.[2] Antoniw is a trustee of the Welsh Refugee Council.[1][2]
Antoniw married in 1984.[1] He and his wife Elaine have three adopted children and live in Llantrisant.[1][2]
Antoniw was selected to represent Welsh Labour as a candidate for the Pontypridd constituency at the National Assembly for Wales, following Jane Davidson's decision to stand down. Davison had represented Pontypridd since the Assembly's creation in 1999. At the National Assembly for Wales election on 5 May 2011. Antoniw increased the Labour vote with a swing of 18.8%. At 11,864, his share of the vote was over 50%, giving him a majority of 7,694 over the Welsh Liberal Democrats candidate, Mike Powell, placed second.[3][4]
