Mersen (known as Carbone Lorraine until 2010) (Euronext: CRL) is a French manufacturing company, founded in 1891 in Nancy, which develops graphite for specialized usage in electrical and electronic applications.
The company is divided into 3 divisions:
- Advanced Materials and Technologies division - specializes in the application of graphite and other high-performance materials in highly demanding industrial environments, including high-temperature applications, and anticorrosion equipment for the pharmaceutical and chemical industries and high-energy braking.
- Electrical Applications division - specializes in brushes for electrical power and brushholders for electric motors, contacts for current collection, slip-ring assemblies and signal transmission systems.
- Electrical Protection division - specializes in industrial fuses and other equipment providing protection against voltage surges and excess electrical charges.
