6 The Country Party member for Riverina, Hugh Roberton, resigned on 21 January 1965; Country Party candidate Adam Armstrong won the resulting by-election on 27 February.
7 The Country Party member for Dawson, George Shaw, died on 9 January 1966; Labor candidate Dr Rex Patterson won the resulting by-election on 26 February.
8 The member for Batman, Sam Benson, was expelled from the Australian Labor Party in September 1966 over his support for the Vietnam War. He served out his term as an independent.
