Melissa Scott (born Melissa Peroff) is an American pastor. She is the widow of Eugene Scott, an ordained minister and religious broadcaster. Since her husband's death in 2005, she has led the congregations at churches in Los Angeles and Glendale, California as the executive pastor.
In 1998, Dr. Gene Scott ordained Melissa Scott as administrative pastor.[1] They married in August 2000 in Reno, Nevada.[1]
Shortly before Eugene Scott's death in 2005, he signed papers to transfer the bulk of his possessions to Melissa, including "Faith Center" church in Glendale, California and "Wescott Christian Center", which was titleholder to the Los Angeles University Cathedral until it was sold in October, 2011.[2] Her sermons have been televised as well as broadcast on short-wave radio in Nashville, Tennessee[3] and the Caribbean.[4][5] In addition, she has made the teachings of Eugene Scott available on an Internet feed.[6]
Scott's sermons have a pedagogical aspect,[1] and she claims to have taught herself twenty languages and uses this to aid her investigation and discussion of Hebrew and Aramaic religious texts.[5] She refers to Eugene Scott as her mentor.[5]
