Melanie Melfort (née Skotnik; born 8 November 1982 in Hersbruck, West Germany) is a French high jumper. She holds both German and French citizenship through her parentage and represented Germany until 2003.
Melfort finished seventh at the 2007 World Championships. In the 2008 Summer Olympics she fell short of reaching the finals after clearing 1.89 metres to take 16th place.
Her outdoor personal best jump is 1.96, achieved in August 2007 in Castres, which tied her for the French national record of Maryse Ewanjé-Epée dating back to 1985. She won the German national championship in 2003 and the French national championships in 2005, 2007 and 2008. She still competes in the German national championships as a member of LG Domspitzmilch Regensburg, but remains a starter for France.[1] Melfort also holds the French indoor record of 1.97m, achieved in Aubière in 2007 and in Dortmund in February 2003[2] and won the French indoor championships in 2005.
