Maxeda (formerly Vendex KBB) is a Dutch retail group that operates in Europe, the Middle East and Dutch dependencies in North America. It is the result of the merger of Koninklijke Bijenkorf Beheer (KBB) and Vendex. The firm is mostly known for their successful department stores. It also runs several other shop formats.

On 15 november 2010, it was announced that De Bijenkorf was sold to Wittington Investments for €290 million.

In September 2010, Vroom&Dreesman was sold to Sun European Partners - an American investment company.

On 20 March 2007, the company announced that it was inviting offers for the Hema chain. On 2 June 2007, HEMA Has been sold to the British investment group Lion Capital.

Maxeda ITS

Maxeda IT Services is an independent IT company which focuses on the Maxeda stores, formerly known as Vendex KBB ITS or IDETA. However they also have a wide selection of clients that are not within the Maxeda group. Since 2008, all employees and contracts were outsourced to Capgemini as Capgemini Retail Solutions, a part of Capgemini Outsourcing.
