Maurice ("Moss") Lane Marshall MBE (born 12 January 1927) was a New Zealand athlete born in Thames, who specialised in middle distance running.
At the 1950 British Empire Games he won a bronze medal in the mile run and then participated in the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki, Finland in both the 1500m and the 800m.[1] [2] After retiring from athletics Marshall returned to school teaching and went on to become headmaster of Southwell School in Hamilton, New Zealand for 16 years.[3] He and his Waikato-born Olympic team mate John Holland were honored by having parallel streets named after them in Hamilton.[4]
