Mathabhanga I (community development block) (Bengali: মাথাভাঙ্গা I সমষ্টি উন্নয়ন ব্লক) is an administrative division in Mathabhanga subdivision of Cooch Behar district in the Indian state of West Bengal. Mathabhanga and Ghoksadanga police stations serve this block. Headquarters of this block is at Mathabhanga.[1][2]

Gram panchayats of Mathabhanga I block/ panchayat samiti are: Bairagirhat, Gopalpur, Hazaraht I, Hazaraht II, Jorpatki, Kedarhat, Kurshamari, Nayarhat, Pachagarh and Sikarpur.[3]
As per 2001 census, Mathabhanga I block had a total population of 186,683, out of which 96,031 were males and 906,52 were females. Mathabhanga I block registered a population growth of 14.86 per cent during the 1991-2001 decade. Decadal growth for the district was 14.15 per cent.[2]Decadal growth in West Bengal was 17.84 per cent.[4]
Mathhabhanga I block had a literacy rate of 60.81 per cent - males 72.66 per cent and females 48.21 per cent.[3]
