The Matawan-Aberdeen Regional School District is a regional school district in Monmouth County, New Jersey. The district serves students in grades K - 12 from the communities of Aberdeen Township (2,655.5 students) and the neighboring community of Matawan Borough (1,246.5 students).[3]
As of the 2007-08 school year, the district's seven schools had an enrollment of 3,756 students and 277.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 13.6.[1]
The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "FG", the fourth highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.[4]
