Mariano Andrés Armentano (born 12 July 1974 in Buenos Aires) is a retired Argentine footballer who played as a striker.
He also holds Italian nationality, although he spent most of his professional career in Spain.
After beginning in his country with Club Atlético Vélez Sársfield, Estudiantes de La Plata and Racing Club de Avellaneda, Armentano had an unassuming stint in Switzerland with FC Basel, after which he returned to Vélez.
He then had a spell with Rosario Central, going on to spend the following eight years in Spain, with Elche CF (two spells), CA Osasuna, Algeciras CF, Córdoba CF and Rayo Vallecano. Only with Osasuna did he play in La Liga, being an offensive backup. He retired in 2007, aged 33.
In 2010, Armentano returned to Vélez, being appointed to the club's coaching staff.[1]
