Malakasa (Greek: Μαλακάσα) is a town and former community of Attica in Greece, it is also a suburb of Athens. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Oropos, of which it is a municipal unit.[1]
Malakasa is linked by road to Schimatari, Agios Merkourios and Markopoulo Oropou. It has an interchange on GR-1/E75. The GR-79 links Malakasa with Nea Palatia. Malakasa has farmlands in the valley areas while mountains with grasses and bushes lies to the north, Mount Parnitha lies to the south and are forested. Several residential streets with a few homes lie south of Malakasa. The highest point is the Parnitha mountain which is 1,413 m and lies to the southeast and can also be seen. Malakasa is located north of Athens, E of Thiva and east of Avlonas.
Businesses are the most popular industry in Malakasa, agriculture dominates the farmlands. Adventure Park is now an attraction of Malakassa and Athens.
The largest town in the community, however, is the town of Milésion (pop. 902). The only other town is Sfendáli (141).
