Pedro Perez Delgado (1881-November 7, 1924) better known as "Maisanta", was a Venezuelan activist and rebel who helped spur an uprising that, before his capture in 1922, resulted in the death of a Venezuelan ex-president and a state governor.[1] In the process, Maisanta's family’s landholdings - known as La Marquesena - were confiscated.

Hugo Chávez is the great-grandson of Delgado. [2]
