Magic Stick
"Magic Stick" is a hip hop song performed by rapper Lil' Kim, written by the featuring rapper 50 Cent (who would later diss Lil' Kim in the song "Piggy Bank"). It was produced by Carlos "Fantom of the Beat" Evans for her third studio album La Bella Mafia (2003).
Background
The song was originally written for 50 Cent's album Get Rich or Die Tryin' as a duet with rapper Trina. It reached the #2 spot on the Hot 100 only behind Beyoncé's "Crazy in Love" despite not having a corresponding music video. A video was scheduled to be shot, but problems between Lil' Kim and 50 Cent caused the shoot to be canceled. It was, however, played many times on the radio.
The song samples "It Be's That Way Sometimes" by Joe Simon. It is Lil' Kim's second highest charting single, behind "Lady Marmalade" This song is also 50 Cent's highest charting song behind "21 Questions" and "In Da Club"
Lawsuit
In September 2007, producer Carlos Evans "Phantom of the Beat" sued 50 Cent, Lil' Kim, and their record labels for failing to pay royalties.[1]
