Madukkur is a Panchayat town in Thanjavur District in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu "[madukkur.com]". It is a small town situated in southern part of Tamil Nadu. It is 11 km from Pattukkottai. It is surrounded with number of villages. Being in the Cauvery River Delta Area the inhabitants’ main occupation is agriculture. The younger generation is well educated and they work in foreign countries like UAE, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, UK and USA. Madukkur is historically an old region which has old Hindu temples around the villages like Kylaya Nathar temple Alathur. The entire village was originally belonged to the Zamindhar of Vadiyakadu.
