Madchild is the stage name of Shane Bunting (born October 21, 1976 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada), a Canadian rapper. He is part of the Vancouver-based hip hop group Swollen Members. In 2009, he released his solo EP entitled The Mad Child EP. Mad Child can be recognized by his high, nasal voice.
In 2001, he was named a member of the legendary 'Rock Steady Crew'.
In early 2011 it was reported that Mad Child was banned from entering the United States, evidently due to alleged ties with the Hells Angels biker gang. Bunting said that he was detained at an American airport for approximately 8 hours before being told he could not enter the country, and is currently working with a lawyer in San Diego, California to rectify the situation. [1][1]
In August 2011, Mad Child returned to his battle roots by taking part in a rap battle for King of the Dot. He went up against Dirtbag Dan and won on a 3-2 decision.[2]
