MSM7000 is a series system-on-a-chip manufactured by Qualcomm for handheld devices, especially smartphones.
These SOCs have multiple processing cores but unlike the contemporary processor chips (e.g. AMDs' Athlon/Phenom and Intels' Core series) these multiple cores are not available in the OS to run applications with symmetric multiprocessing properties, there is only one core to run the OS and user applications.
Generally these SOCs have the following 4 cores [1]:
Aside the CPU cores the chips contain such hardware as 2D graphics hardware, 3D (OpenGL ES 1.1) graphics hardware, media acceleration hardware (for video decode etc.), and various interfaces (keyboard, display / MDDI, USB, camera, TV, ...). They also contain an AXI controller, a kind of memory control unit.
They are widely used in smartphones produced by HTC Corporation (including both Windows Mobile and Android devices), Sony Ericsson, LG Group, Samsung, and also other devices like the Zeebo.

The A versions have higher specs (frequencies). The 7201 versions have a different radio than the 7200 versions.
Popular phones using these processors:
Basically the same as the MSM7200A, but with CDMA.
Popular phones using these processor;
MSM7525 528 MHz 65 nm;[5] HTC Hero CDMA
The Huawei Ascend uses a MSM7625 SoC,this is the CDMA version of the 7225 with the addition of a DSP and addition performance enhancements to the ARM11 core. However, this SoC lacks a GPU and relies on software rendering for the UI.
These devices are GSM cousins of the Snapdragon chips, for example they include OpenGL ES 2.0 engine and Adreno 200 included.[6]

Popular phones using these processors:
These devices are sub 1GHz Snapdragon S2 chips, architecturally identical to the MSM8255/8655 series. The MSM7230 is the GSM version and the MSM7630 is the CDMA version. They contain the Qualcomm designed Scorpion applications processor core (ARMv7) instead of the ARM11 and the QDSP6 applications DSP instead of the QDSP5. They include the Adreno 205 GPU.
