MDaemon, developed by Alt-N Technologies, is a multi-language SMTP/POP3 Windows-based mail server software with web mail, remote administration, secure Instant Messenger (IM), and Anti-spam techniques security.[1] Some software in the family is commercial, and some are freeware.[2]

MDaemon mail server software provides groupware features via integration with Microsoft Outlook (using Outlook Connector for MDaemon) and a multi-language webmail client for email access anywhere. Starting with release 11, MDaemon directly integrates BlackBerry Internet Service.[3] Release 12 "BlackBerry Edition" extended integration with features usually only available with BlackBerry Enterprise Server.[4] Availability of the BE edition has been limited in some countries due to legal restrictions.[5]

MDaemon provides email security using a layered approach (with SecurityPlus for MDaemon) offering proactive protection against email-borne threats of spam, viruses, and phishing. It uses the Vouch By Reference (VBR) email authentication technique and validates and signs messages using DKIM, DK, Sender-ID, and SPF.[3]

The mail server software provides standards-compliant features for small-to-medium-sized businesses in multiple languages, while supporting mailing lists, content filtering, multiple domain support, flexible administration, and an open standards design for mobile access. It has been used by businesses in over 90 countries and over 20 languages worldwide.[1]
