M Street Bridge
M Street Bridge carries M Street across Rock Creek and Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway between Georgetown and Foggy Bottom in Northwest Washington, D.C. The present location of M Street Bridge is the site of the oldest bridge to be constructed in the District of Columbia in 1788.[1] The current bridge was completed in 1930 and remains the only non-arched bridge design spanning Rock Creek Park.[2] It was erected without the approval of the Commission of the Fine Arts, which established architectural aesthetics for park bridge design in the District.[2]
