Lynn Gladden

Lynn Faith Gladden CBE, FRS is the Shell Professor of Chemical Engineering and was Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at the University of Cambridge up until 1 October 2010. She is also a Pro-Vice Chancellor from 1 January 2010[1] and a Fellow of Trinity College since 1999.[2][3] She is the lead researcher at the university's magnetic resonance research centre (MRRC).[3]

Gladden obtained a BSc in Chemical Physics at the University of Bristol in 1982 and a PhD in Physical Chemistry at Cambridge in 1987.[4] She is a Chartered Chemist and Chartered Engineer, being a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, the Institution of Chemical Engineers and the Institute of Physics.[5]

She was elected a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2003 and a Fellow of the Royal Society in 2004.[6]

Awards

She was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to chemistry in 2001, and was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for services to chemical engineering in the 2009 Birthday Honours.[7][8]
