Luray is a village in Clark County, Missouri, United States. The population was 102 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Fort MadisonKeokuk, IA-MO Micropolitan Statistical Area.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.2 square miles (0.52 km2), all of it land.

Demographics

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 102 people, 39 households, and 26 families residing in the village. The population density was 519.7 people per square mile (196.9/km²). There were 46 housing units at an average density of 234.4 per square mile (88.8/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 99.02% White and 0.98% African American.

There were 39 households out of which 30.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.3% were married couples living together, 12.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.8% were non-families. 25.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.62 and the average family size was 3.07.

In the village the population was spread out with 31.4% under the age of 18, 4.9% from 18 to 24, 32.4% from 25 to 44, 21.6% from 45 to 64, and 9.8% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females there were 108.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.0 males.

The median income for a household in the village was $23,125, and the median income for a family was $23,750. Males had a median income of $21,250 versus $26,250 for females. The per capita income for the village was $10,927. There were 20.0% of families and 27.7% of the population living below the poverty line, including 30.3% of under eighteens and 100.0% of those over 64.
