Lubao is a 1st class municipality in the province of Pampanga, Philippines. According to the latest census, it has a population of 143,058 people in 23,446 households. It is bounded by the municipalities of Guagua on the north, Sasmuan on the east, Floridablanca on the west and Orani, Bataan on the south
Located at the southwestern part of Pampanga, it is noted for rice, sugar cane, fish, and sampaguita.
Notable people from Lubao include former President Diosdado Macapagal and former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and former Governor Jose "Joe" Bulaon Lingad. Other famous "Lubenians" include educator Alejandro Quiboloy, movie stars, Rogelio and Jaime dela Rosa, the movie director, Gregorio Fernandez, actor Rudy Fernandez, Teacher Lhie Miguel, Huk commander, Silvestre Liwanag alias "Linda Bie", gambling tycoon Bong Pineda, and PBA Player Arwind Santos.

Religion
Majority of the residents in Lubao are Roman Catholics. There are adherents of Iglesia ni Cristo wherein a chapel in Brgy. Baruya was dedicated to God on November 26, 2011 with Pastoral Visitation of the present Executive Minister of the Iglesia ni Cristo Brother Eduardo V. Manalo.

Notable People from Lubao
- Arwind Santos -PBA basketball player and a alumni of Lubao Institute .He is also the PBA last conference Finals MVP . He is also one of the well Known Alumni Of Lubao Institute and from Sto Tomas Lubao Pampanga.
- Ian Sangalang - A Collage Basketball Player Playing in the NCAA with the San Sebastian Collage Recoletos . He is also a alumni of Lubao Institute and a well known player . He plays the Position of CENTER.
- Gregorio Fernandez - started out as a dentist who was fascinated by the silver screen. Fernandez' film career can be divided into that of an actor in his earlier years and a director in the latter part.
- Rogelio de la Rosa - one of the most popular Filipino matinee idols of the 20th century. He is also remembered for his statesmanship, in particular his accomplishments as a diplomat. Elected to the Philippine Senate from 1957 to 1963, he also was the first Filipino film actor who was able to parlay his fame into a substantial political career.
- Jaime de la Rosa - a Filipino pre-war and postwar actor better known as Jimmy in Philippine showbiz. He is the younger brother of Rogelio dela Rosa and became one of LVN Pictures's bankable star.
- Ato Agustin - better known as Ato "The Atom Bomb" Agustin, is a former Filipino professional basketball player. He played college ball for the Lyceum of the Philippines, before moving on to play professional basketball in the Philippine Basketball Association. A former Most Valuable Player awardee of the PBA. In 2000, Agustin was named a member of the PBA's 25 Greatest Players.
- Cecile Licad - a renowned Filipina virtuoso classical pianist dubbed as a "a pianist's pianist" by The New Yorker, "her artistry, a blend of daring musical instinct and superb training.
- Rudy Fernandez - also known as "Daboy", was a multi-awarded Filipino actor and producer. He came to prominence as an action star in the Philippine cinema during the 1980s up to the early 1990s. Fernandez was born in Manila, the son of film director Gregorio Fernandez. Both his parents were from Lubao, Pampanga, which he considered his hometown.
