From the west, LA 180 begins at an intersection with US 71 in Tioga at the Shreveport Highway and runs easterly through Pineville. It ends at US 165 Business (Military Highway). A sign at Military Highway has a direction sign, directing drivers who wish to go to Monroe along the older US 165 Business instead of over to US 165, and Shreveport drivers towards US 71.
LA 180 is an undivided, two-lane road for its entire length.
The entire route is in Pineville, Rapides Parish.
