The Los Angeles Recording School is located on Sunset Boulevard, in Hollywood, California. The school provides hands-on and curriculum training in professional music recording, audio engineering, and audio production techniques. LARS is a branch of The Los Angeles Film School and offers a one year, "hands on", certificate program, an eighteen month extended Associate of Science degree program, or Accelerated twelve month Associate of Science degree program.

The Los Angeles Recording School trains students in all aspects of recording session procedures and technologies, preparing them for entry level positions in the recording industry that are intended to result in a career as a recording engineer.
The 950 hour certificate program covers Music Production, Digital Recording and Audio Post Production for Film and TV, taught in both classroom and hands-on lab environments. It includes the initial preparation stages of equipment setup and preproduction; all the way through the multi-track recording process, to mixing and mastering the finished product in stereo or 5.1 surround sound. [1] The extended degree program covers the same as the certificate program but gives students more time and the ability to earn a degree. This program has students take the general education credits in order to receive their associate of science degree through their sister school, Full Sail located in Florida, with online classes. The extended program is worked into an eighteen month time frame. The Accelerated Degree program is the same as the extended except its minimized into an intense twelve month time frame.
The Los Angeles Recording School has over 50,000 square feet (4,600 m2) of facilities and classrooms, also including over 20 hands on labs and studios. [2].The Los Angeles recording school is an urban campus and has three different locations all on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.
The Los Angeles Recording School’s certificate program and degree program starts monthly. Classes graduate on a monthly basis as well.
Tuition costs $24,620 for the entire certificate program.[1]
The Los Angeles Recording School is a nationally accredited institution by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET) , which is a national accreditor of primarily vocational schools and career schools within the United States.
The Los Angeles Recording School's campus is an urban one and does not have residential facilities. Instead, students either commute or rent nearby apartments. The school does provide assistance in finding local apartments if needed.
