Litchfield Beach, South Carolina

Litchfield Beach, also known simply as Litchfield, is an unincorporated community in Georgetown County, South Carolina. It lies in the Waccamaw Neck section, 3 miles north of Pawleys Island, on the Grand Strand.

The community takes its name from Litchfield Plantation, a rice plantation founded early in the 18th century. Modern development of the community began in the 1960s.[1]

Litchfield by the Sea is a private community in the north of Litchfield Beach, comprising vacation rental homes and other property.[2] Litchfield Beach and Golf Resort is a 4,500 acre resort within Litchfield by the Sea.[3]
