List of science fiction editors

This is a list of science fiction editors, editors working for book and magazine publishing companies who have edited science fiction. Many have also edited works of fantasy and other related genres, all of which have been sometimes grouped under the name speculative fiction. SF editors, as in all fields of literature, have often exercised significant influence over the focus and writing style of some authors, an example being Philip K. Dick's relationship with Judy-Lynn del Rey and her editing of A Scanner Darkly. Some of the more notable editors in SF history are indicated in bold.
