  1. The "height" listed is the vertical distance from the crest of the dam to the original stream bed at the downstream toe of the dam.
  2. Lake Tahoe is a natural lake and the dam only adds a capacity of 732,000 acre feet (903,000,000 m3) and only controls the top 6 feet (1.8 m) of the lake.
