The President of Senegal is the head of state of Senegal. According to the 2001 Constitution, the president is elected for a 7 year term.

This is a list of the Presidents since Senegal became independent from France in 1960.

Senghor became the first President of Senegal in 1960 after the collapse of the Mali Federation. He worked towards democracy in Senegal and resigned before the end of his fifth term.
2 Abdou Diouf[1] 1 January 1981 1 April 2000 Socialist Party of Senegal
Diouf continued the political liberation of his predecessor, allowing more opposition parties to take part in elections. His term was marked by the short-lived Senegambia Confederation and the Mauritania–Senegal Border War, in addition to the Casamance conflict.
3 Abdoulaye Wade[2] 1 April 2000 Incumbent Senegalese Democratic Party
Wade is the incumbent President of Senegal. During his term, the Casamance conflict was ended in 2006 with the Senegalese victory.
