Major Anya Amasova (aka Agent XXX) is a fictional character in the James Bond film The Spy Who Loved Me, portrayed by Barbara Bach. In the film Amasova is an agent of the KGB. However, in the novelisation by Christopher Wood, Amasova is an agent of Otdyel IV, a department of SMERSH.

An Admiral in the Royal Navy, in the film he is said to have known Bond having served together on HMS Ark Royal, it is also stated the Admiral is "Flag Officer, Submarines". This character is usually the topic of much debate as to whether he later becomes M since this character and the character of M in Octopussy, A View to a Kill, The Living Daylights, and Licence to Kill are both played by Robert Brown (see M for further details).
