The following is a list of British Pakistanis, namely citizens or residents of the United Kingdom whose ethnic origins lie in Pakistan:
Business and Finance
- Ahsan Ellahi - Head of European Finance at Eurohypo AG. He previously worked as the Head of Real Estate Finance for HSBC's Corporate & Institutional Banking Division.[1]
- Afzal Khan - A Bradford based entrepreneur, who owns a specialist car design company. In 2008 he broke records after paying £440,000 for a distinctive 'F1' number plate.[2] He has previously shown an interest in purchasing Newcastle football club.[3]
- Aneel Mussarat - A property millionaire. His company, MCR Property Group, specialises in renting apartments to university students in Manchester and Liverpool. [4]
- Ausaf Abbas - Head of Sales & Marketing in Private Wealth Management at Merrill Lynch. He is the former director of Merril Lynch Global Wealth and Chief Operating Officer of the Asia-Pacific Region. Abbas lives in Surrey with his wife and five children.[5]
- Imran Hakim - Inventor of the 'iteddy', his concept earned him World Toy Innovation 2008. He is also the youngest entrant into the NorthWest Power 100 list for 2009. His other work includes representing Finnair as the voice of entrepreneurship for their “Global Enterprise Heroes” campaign.[6]
- James Caan - Businessman and entrepreneur who was formally a part of Dragons' Den alongside with other investors.[7]
- Javed Ahmed - The Chief Executive of Tate & Lyle plc[8] - a FTSE 250 company which is one of Britain's oldest brands.[9] Lyle's sugar and Golden Syrup is a familiar sight in British family kitchens.
- Mohammed Amin - An accountant who was born in Pakistan but moved to Manchester with his parents aged one years old. He is now retired but was formally a Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers for 19 years. He is currently the vice-chairman of the Conservative Muslim Forum and treasurer of the Muslim Jewish Forum of Greater Manchester.[10]
- Mohammed Saleem - A Kashmiri born millionaire now living in Bradford, he is the owner of Kashmir Crown Bakeries.[11]
- Nighat Awan O.B.E - Manchester born Awan is the owner of the Shere Khan Group which is a regional and national brand in the restaurant and food manufacturing industry. She lives on one of most exclusive roads in Hale, Greater Manchester and is considered to be part of the 'Cheshire set'.[12]
- Sir Anwar Pervez - A Pakistan-born businessman and ranks as the 6th richest Asian in Great Britain. Founder of the Bestway Group.[13]
- Shaf Rasul - One of the richest men in Scotland.[14] He made his money through IT and property, he also takes part in online editions of Dragon's Den.[15]
- Shami Ahmed - A Burnley born former fashion tycoon, he is the founder of Joe Bloggs. The former market trader was, at the peak of his business life, one of Britain's richest young entrepreneurs. Ahmed began gambling in order to continue his wealthy lifestyle, however his significant losses led to Ahmed's eventual bankruptcy in late 2009.[16]

Journalism and Media
- Javed Malik - Is a prominent Television Anchor and the Publisher of UAE's First Diplomatic Magazine The International Diplomat. He is also the Executive Director of the World Forum, and served as Pakistan's Ambassador at Large and Special Advisor to The Prime Minister. He was a close friend of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, and is also considered a close friend to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif of Pakistan.
- Aziz Rashid - Bradford born Rashid studied Engineering at Oxford University before starting work as a Merchant Banker. He joined the BBC World Service in 1989 and now works as the Head of Regional and Local Programmes for the BBC in the North West of England.[27]
- Aaqil Ahmed - Commissioning editor for Religion and Multicultural programming at Channel 4[28]
- Adil Ray - British radio and television presenter, for BBC Asian Network[29]
- Adnan Nawaz - A News and Sports presenter working for the BBC World Service[30]
- Ali Abbasi - Former Scottish TV Presenter [31]
- Anila Baig - A columnist at The Sun (United Kingdom)[32]
- Martin Bashir - British journalist of Pakistani descent, currently with ABC's 20/20[33]
- Mazher Mahmood (also known as The Fake sheikh) - He was often dubbed as "Britain’s most notorious undercover reporter" and in a GQ survey was voted as the 45th most powerful man in Britain, ahead of Prince William.[34]The News of the World paid his six figure salary, plus an editorial and technical support budget which included a dedicated technical support crew, his two bodyguards and essential props, including: luxury hotel suites; limousines and private jets.[35]
- Mehdi Hasan - Senior politics editor at the New Statesman and a former news and current affairs editor at Channel 4 [36]
- Mishal Husain - Currently an anchor for BBC World[37]
- Riz Lateef - A news reader and the BBC Deputy News Manager[38]
- Saira Khan - Was the runner-up on the first series of The Apprentice, and now a TV presenter on BBC's Temper Your Temper and Desi DNA[39]
- Sarfraz Manzoor - A British writer, journalist, documentary maker, and broadcaster. He writes regularly for The Guardian, presents documentaries on BBC Radio 4.[40]
- Shaf Rasul - A British Pakistani millionaire who is also a business column writer for The Scottish Sun newspaper[41]
- Shereen Nanjiani - A radio journalist with BBC Radio Scotland[42]
- Tazeen Ahmad - A British television and radio presenter and reporter[43]
- Waheed Khan - Documentary television director working in British television[44]
Law and Justice
- Aamer Anwar - A Glaswegian Solicitor who has previously won awards as Criminal Lawyer of the Year by The Law Awards of Scotland in 2005 and 2006.[45]
- Javed Khan (Chief Executive) - Chief Executive of the British charity Victim Support.[46] Khan, who is of Kashmiri origin, is also a Member of the Whitehall Social Policy Forum and an adviser to the Goldman Sachs Global Leaders Programme.[47]
- Judge Mushtaq Khokhar - A Circuit Judge at Manchester Crown Court. He was called to the Bar at Lincoln's Inn in 1982.[48]
- Mukhtar Hussain Q.C - He was called by Middle Temple in 1971 and was the first Recorder and Queens Counsel from an ethnic minority background outside of London.[49]
- Nazir Afzal - The Chief Crown Prosecutor for North West England[50]
- Sadiq Khan - A senior member of the Labour Party and former Chair of the Fabian Society think tank. He is currently serving as the Shadow Lord Chancellor.[51]
- Judge Shamim Qureshi - A District Judge based at Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court. He is of Kashmiri origin and came to Britain aged five initially unable to speak any English.[52]
- Tahir Khan - A Bradford born Barrister who become the first Muslim on the North Eastern legal circuit to be appointed a Queen’s Counsel.[53]

- Mehboob Khan - The Leader of Kirklees Council, Chair of the Local Government Association, Safer Communities Board, Chair of the Association of West Yorkshire Authorities, Vice-chair of West Yorkshire Fire Authority and a non-executive director of the NHS [70]
- Mohammad Asghar - is a Welsh politician, representing Plaid Cymru[71]
- Mohammad Sarwar - is a politician in the United Kingdom, the Labour member of Parliament for Glasgow Central[72]
- Nazir Ahmed, Baron Ahmed - is a Labour peer in the House of Lords[73]
- Sadiq Khan - Labour MP for Tooting
- Salma Yaqoob - is the vice-chair of Respect – The Unity Coalition and a Birmingham City Councillor.[74]
- Sayeeda Hussain Warsi, Baroness Warsi - is a Lawyer and British politician for the Conservative Party. Baroness Warsi is currently a member of the Cabinet.
- Shahid Malik - is a Labour Party politician and Member of Parliament for Dewsbury. He served as a Minister for International Development in Gordon Brown's government[75]
- Sajjad Karim MEP - born in Brierfield, Lancashire Sajjad qualified as a solicitor and started a number of successful lawyers practices before being elected as a Member of the European Parliament in 2007. He is the Conservative Legal Affairs Spokesman and sits on the Industry, Research and Engery Committee.
Science and Medicine
- Dr. Naveed Zaidi - Developed the world's first workable plastic magnet at room temperature [76] [77][78]
- Dr. Nessar Ahmed - A Fellow of the Institute of Biomedical Science (FIBMS). Ahmed, who is of Pashtun origin, was awarded the Young Investigators Award in 2003 by the World Association for Societies in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.[79]
- Dr. Sohail Ansari - Consultant Physician at Southend Hospital, Chairman of Essex Tuberculosis Network, Chairman of South East Essex Respiratory Strategic Group, Governor of American College of Chest Physicians, President of Pakistan Essex Doctors Society.[80] [81] [82]
- Dr. Tariq Idris - A Celebrity dentist with practises in Cheshire and on London's Harley Street.[83]

- Shehzad Tanweer - One of four men who detonated explosives in three trains on the London Underground and one bus in central London during the 7 July 2005 London bombing.[106]

- Michael Nazir-Ali - The 106th and current Bishop of Rochester in the Church of England. He holds dual Pakistani and British citizenship[109]
- Mohammed Khaliel - A community activist who served as, Associate director of Mental Health trust, Director Housing Association, school Governor, a Parliamentary Candidate in 2005 election and currently liasing in policing, as chair of national group. He founded Islamix.co.uk to dispel myths about Islam and promote community cohesion.[110]
- Mohammad Naseem - A former GP and the chairman of the Birmingham Mosque Trust[111]
- Mona Siddiqui - A British Muslim academic, currently is a University of Glasgow's Professor of Islamic Studies and Public Understanding, as well a regular contributor to BBC Radio 4, The Times, Scotsman, The Guardian, The Herald[112]
- Nosheen Idrees Represented Pakistan in the Miss Earth pageant. Nosheen was crowned the third runner up for the Miss Pakistan World Pageant in 2008.[113]
- Robina Qureshi - A Scottish human rights campaigner[114]
- Sahil Saeed - A young boy kidnapped in Pakistan on March 3, 2010 but was later released unharmed after the payment of a ransom[115]
- Vilayat Inayat Khan - was the eldest son of Sufi Murshid Hazrat Inayat Khan, head of the Sufi Order International[116]
- Zohaib Ahmed - The youngest pupil ever to get grade A in an A-Level maths exam. He attended Knightwood Primary School in Hampshire and his ambition is to work as an actuary in London's financial district.[117][118]
- Ishtiaq Hussain - A civil servant, author and expert in counter-extremism.[119]
