Lissa Evans is a British television director, producer and author. She mainly works on comedy programmes for Hat Trick Productions.
After qualifying as a doctor in 1983, she worked in medicine in Newcastle for a couple of years before a brief period in standup. She joined BBC Radio where she was a radio producer of comedy programmes before migrating to television. Evans has worked on shows such as Father Ted (for which she won a BAFTA for best comedy), Room 101, The Kumars at No. 42, TV Heaven, Telly Hell, News Knight with Sir Trevor McDonald and Crossing the Floor (for which she won an Emmy for best drama).
Lissa Evans has also written a number of books with hints of humour such as Odd One Out, Their Finest Hour And A Half Spencer's List and Small Change For Stuart, a children's novel.[1]
