The game, like all the other titles in the main Lips series, features the use of motion sensitive wireless microphones and includes 40 upbeat songs from the past decades. Its planned release is on February 26, 2010.
It was first announced on December 3, 2009, which will make it the third game in the English-language Lips series and overall the 5th Lips soundtrack.

For the first time in the series, Party Classics will be compatible with regular USB microphones. Also, while Lips: Number One Hits already supports a recording feature, Party Classics features an enhanced version of it. The game features new Achievements and Avatar Awards, bringing the cumulative gamerscore of the Lips series to 1500.
Lips: Party Classics had average reviews, with a 69 metascore in Metacritics site. Although a very strong playlist has been praised, the absence of novelties was criticized.
On April 2, Lips: I Love the 80's will be released with and without microphone. With this 3rd sequel, the total gamescore achievements available in Lips series is 1750.
