Lily James was born in Esher, Surrey, England. She began her education at Arts Educational School in Tring and subsequently went on to study acting at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London graduating in 2010.[1][2]
Lily is currently playing Desdemona in Daniel Evans production of Othello at the Crucible Sheffield, alongside Dominic West and Clarke Peters.
Previously Lily finished filming Warner Brothers the Wrath of the Titans in July 2011. Where she appears alongside Sam Worthington, Rosamund Pike, Toby Kebbell, Bill Nighy, Ralph Fiennes, and Liam Neeson. The film is set to release in March 2012.
Lily made her Professional Stage Debut in February 2011 at the London's Young Vic Theatre[3] in a production of Tanya Ronda's stage adaptation of DBC Pierre's Booker Prize-winning novel Vernon God Little directed by Rufus Norris.
In Feb-March 2011, Lily appeared in the fourth and final season of ITV's Secret Diary of a Call Girl starring Billie Piper, playing the role of Poppy.
Other credits include the BBC production of Richmal Crompton's Just William with Daniel Roche which aired in December 2010.
