Liaquatabad (Urdu: لیا قت آباد ) is a neighborhood of Liaquatabad Town in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. Liaquatabad was named after Nawabzada Liaquat Ali Khan, the first Prime Minister of Pakistan.[1]
There are several ethnic groups in Liaquatabad including Muhajirs, Punjabis, Sindhis, Kashmiris, Seraikis, Pakhtuns, Balochis, Memons, Bohras, Ismailis, etc. Over 99% of the population is Muslim. The population of Liaquatabad Town is estimated to be nearly one million. Muhajirs constitute an overwhelming majority of population of Liaquatabad.
